HP Mini 210 Netbook

With all the mini-laptops on the market today, it’s hard to get excited about a new release. However, the HP Mini 210 is more than just the average mini. With features from some larger models included, this 10 inch netbook is sure to impress anyone searching for the perfect one.

The first major feature of the HP Mini 210 netbook is the 10.1 inch High Definition LED Display. The 1080p HD display is run by the on-board Intel(R) Graphics Media Accelerator 3150 processor. This combination is good for a resolution of 1366 x 768 and is perfect for viewing streaming HD web video or watching HD DVD’s on the optional external 8x DVD drive.

The HP Mini 210′s Intel(R) Atom processor is the ideal complement to the GPU and HD display. This processor was designed for ultra portability and is the perfect combination of raw processing power, energy efficiency, and small physical size. The processor choices range from N455 at 1.66GHz to the N475 at 1.83GHz. All processor choices feature 512 Kb of L2 cache. The Atom processor family is the key to the HP Mini 210′s exceptional battery life. HP advertises 4.5 hours of life on the standard 3 cell lithium battery, and up to 10.25 hours of operation on the optional 6 cell lithium battery.

While the 1 GB of RAM is fairly common, the DDR3 standard is not. Most competitor’s netbooks feature the older DDR2, but the HP Mini 210 steps it up to the next level. It also features an available 2 gigabytes or RAM as an optional upgrade. With a total of 2 gigs of shared system memory, you can run more programs at the same time without bogging down. The Mini 210 also includes a 160 gigabyte hard drive for storing all your important files. If you opt for Windows 7 instead of Windows XP, the HP Mini 210 ups the storage to 250 gigabytes to accommodate the larger operating system.

With all this great computing power housed in the HP Mini 210, the next area of concern is connectivity. The HP Mini 210 features all the usual wireless connectivity like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, but adds your choice of cellular broadband from Verizon, AT&T, or Sprint. A subscription is required for the cellular service. Wired connections include 3 USB ports, an RJ-45 ethernet port, and a VGA output for connecting an external monitor or projector. There is also a webcam for video chats and a 5 in 1 digital media card reader for flash memory cards

Lastly, the HP Mini 210 is ultra portable. It weighs in at 2.69 pounds and is less than an inch thick. Even though it is light and thin, the HP Mini 210 feels fairly robust when compared to other models. Another nice feature is the keyboard size. Normally, the keyboard is downsized considerably in a miniature sized laptop, but this one is only 7% smaller overall. This is especially nice for those users with larger fingers.

With the HD video, Atom processor, and 2 Gigabytes of RAM, the HP Mini 210 is everything a mini netbook usually is not. If you are in the market for a netbook that has can take full advantage of the internet and more, then the HP Mini 210 is for you.
